We are excited to announce a merge with a successful Gladstone based consulting surveying company, McNee Surveys Pty Ltd. This merge took effect on 1st December 2007 and accordingly North Surveys now trade in Gladstone and Agnes Waters as McNee North Surveys.
Des McNee will remain as Regional Manager for Gladstone and Agnes Waters.
This merge will enable the new entity to better service our clients, offering greater use of resources, technology, expertise and knowledge … not to mention the advantages that the geographic spread will offer.

QSEA 2007 Industry and Entrepreneurship Award --Tank Scanning Technique--This Award recognizes how spatial sciences affect operations and effectiveness and recognizes the techniques, methodologies, business practices and tools that have contributed to the economic performance of an industry, or to the individual company. Judges considered projects against the following specific criteria:1. Applying (or creating business(es) to exploit) new spatial applications, tools, products, technologies in a commercial industry sector2. Methods, practices and integrated spatial solutions involved as well as overall technical challenge 3. Degree of intellectual stringency applied and lateral and/or original thinking used4. QSEA 2006 Research & Innovation Award--Kinematic Scanning Technique--This award recognizes an individual’s or a corporation’s contribution to spatial science research and/or technical innovation. It may be conferred for a specific project or for an innovative solution to a technical problem. Specific criteria Judges considered projects against the following specific criteria:1. Originality and/or ingenuity of design2. Difficulty of the task or of the existing problem to be overcome3. Proportion of available resources engaged in research / innovation4. Use of emerging or developing new technologies5. Potential as a new spatial sciences benchmark6. Economic or sociological benefit to the industry or the community
QSEA 2006 J M (Mac) Serisier Award--Kinematic Scanning Technique--The J M (Mac) Serisier Award recognizes Mac Serisier’s enormous contribution to the professional and business communities in spatial information, surveying and mapping. It represents the pinnacle of achievement in the spatial industry and is the highest award the Judging Panel can confer. It is bestowed, at the Judging Panel’s discretion, on any project drawn from any of the industry categories and that, in the Judges’ opinion, attains the highest level of overall achievement.
DMR 2006 High Commendation Award - Queensland Department of Main Roads“Meeting the Infrastructure Challenge” --Kinematic Scanning Technique--
ISA 2002 Excellence in Surveying (Queensland)--Bendigo Rail Project--The award, for the open project category, was for the "Regional Fast Rail Project" undertakenon behalf of the Department of Infrastructure from the Victorian Government. The project involved a logistical challenge to complete the project (140klms) in the time frame (7 weeks) without jeopardising quality of survey. It involved utilizing the latest technologies along with the cyra laser scanning equipment to achieve superior data than what would have normally been achieved with conventional procedures. North Surveys was the only non-Victorian company to be awarded part of the project of with two of the seven sections being commissioned , totalling over a third of the overall project.
